Double Jig Setdancing Videos?

Hi, I’ve been looking around for a good video of people setdancing to a double jig (ie. what people normally refer to as “jig”) but have had little luck so far. Can anyone who knows of good examples point me to them? Thanks!

Go to YouTube.com and search on “Set Dance”.

Go to Comhaltas.ie and check out their videos and stuff.

Lots available.

I have a DVD that the Clare Comhaltas did last year where we played for the very best set dancers in the county, there’s a lot of battering going on and lovely footwork. Not sure I can copy the jig figure and e-mail it though.

I’ve done a search on youtube before but for some reason all the set dances labelled jig were actually slides. I also have some difficulty locating set dance videos in Comhaltas’ site, let alone the double jig ones. Hence I was hoping that someone who knew about specific videos online could me help out.

On YerTube, try this search string:

Happened across this:

Dunno if it would fit your need.

djm: Thanks, I’ve seen the first one before but the sound was so bad I thought they were dancing to something else than a jig. They rest were okay though it would be nice if there were better videos to be had like a footage off Siar an Bothar or something.

anniemcu: The video seems to be more for step dancing than set dancing, thanks though!

(sound of palm hitting forehead, followed by almost inaudible, “duh!”) oops.
