Desi & Fintan CDs

Solo flute albums by Desi Wilkinson - his “Three-Piece Flute” recording which originally came out on cassette, and also Fintan Vallely’s “Shanachie” recording - only available on LP up until now - are apparently obtainable as CDs from Claddagh in Dublin according to their latest email. Fintan’s “Starry Lane To Monaghan”, with guitarist Mark Simos, which was only ever on cassette is now on CD too. Just in case some of you hadn’t heard.

Thank you!!!

Starry Lane is also on iTunes.

Funny, I’ve had Desi’s CD for 2-3 years but you can buy direct from Fintan at http://www.imusic.ie

Thanks Kenny for giving these to me on tape a few years ago - I now have them on CD. Fintan’s Shanachie recording definitely a favourite

A friend of mine gave me those two Fintan Vallely CDs last week and I’ve been enjoying them.

Here’s a vote for reissuing the wonderful album Cosa gan Bhróga on CD, which has in my opinion some of the best flute playing of Desi Wilkinson ever recorded. It’s Desi with Gerry O’Connor and Gerry’s late wife Eithne ní Uallacháin (her singing is spellbinding on here as well). I finally got around to transferring my old cassette onto CD a few weeks ago and listened to it again for the first time in years, it’s a real classic, full of energy, great tunes, excellent playing, and simply gorgeous singing.
