Delivery companies

:swear:

Ok, I know it’s their busiest time of the year but if a company charges me for next day delivery then I want the thing to actually be delivered on the next working day. And if the parcel tracking page shows the thing out for delivery from 12pm and the van stays out until 7pm then that should be plenty of time to deliver the bloody package!
:swear: :swear: :swear:

Was looking forward to spending the weekend recording some tunes using a new USB interface, not going to happen now and the courier depot is closed so I can’t just go and collect it. Means I now have to change my plans for Monday (i’m off work next week) and go to the office to pick this thing up. Assuming it gets delivered at all.

Shower of *****

This is the 2nd delivery mess I’ve had this month, you’d think they’d be good at this by now.

We’ve had similar experiences with Rdl*ne. Yes, the galling thing is being charged for their non-delivery. We don’t have a tracking note? No! How are they going to deliver the packing note when they don’t deliver the package? The company that sent it has the tracking note, not us. And the nearest Rdl*ne depot is 30 miles away. It would have been easier to collect it from the original company. After sending rockets off in all directions we got our package. But definitely, the service is not up to its advertised ability.

All is not lost, I figured out the company is what used to be called Parceline and I know where their depot is, sure I’ve been there before on a Saturday morning too. So I’m off there now to check..

Don’t say the letter D, H or L around here…

…they are closing their facility near here (airport and all) and putting over 2000 people out of work.

Got it

Even managed to get the delivery charge refunded from the company I ordered it from.

Now to spend the afternoon playing…

That’s the worst part, not being able to go to the depot afterhours to pick your parcel up in person. Either the package is out on the truck or the depot is closed.

For us the worst offender is still UPS. It’s beyond me how they stay in business, charging three or four times as much as anyone else, and taking twice as long to deliver.

Tracking numbers.

Tracking numbers exist so you can TRACK your parcel.

I have sent many parcels out of Japan.
Japan Post and other Japanese couriers track the parcel at every point.

As soon as the parcel leaves Japan and hits the USPS or UK Post office, the tracking number enters an alternate reality.
In the worst case, the tracking changed to delivered three weeks after the parcel had been delivered.
