I have just received a low low a whistle from Daniel Bingamon in Ohio. The whistle is made from Pvc tubing and has an angled neck to help with the extra low reach. The bottom hole rotates to allow for personal adjustment.
The whistle sounds excellent and I would highly recommend ordering one for any low whistler looking to xtend their range. The whistle is a little crude (which I love) .
Also, Daniel was excellent to deal with. The first whislte he sent me was lost in the mail. He reponded immediately and sent me a replacement whistle, which I received a week after the original whistle hed been lost. I’m not sure of his url, but his company is called jubilee musical instruments. He also makes high whistles out of brass and a range of low whistles in nearly any key. Thank You to him and his service.
Hello Mike,
The whistle is keyed in low low A. That is its bell note or lowestnote is the alto A below The stndard Tenor D of a standard low whistle. The whistle is very quiet and low and breathy. It sounds awesome in a place with good acoustics, but is almost inaudible at other times. I would recommend this whistle to someone with experience fingering and blowing a low whistle. That said the reach is not too bad. I have medium sized fingers and reach it fine with a piper’s grip. Also the bottom hole rotates and can be placed offset or inline. It looks cool and for those who like to have everything bigger and lower its perfect. Check Daniel out, He makes interesting stuff.
