Dancing on ruins

Does any or the esteemed membership/readers
know of this tune please?

Dancing on the Ruins by Casey Neill.

I can’t find it on the ‘net’ with the usual
search engines or tune finders.

Words/music/mp3 anything would do.

At first I thought it was an Celtic type tune
like Dans en dro, but then found out it isn’t - silly me. More a protest type song, but that is all I can find.

Will this be a first defeat for the poststructural whistling participants?

Arg!

If you can get to Oxford for the concert, maybe he will play it!!

it’s mentioned here

and here’s the lyrics:

This is from Casey Neill’s CD “Riff Raff”.

“Dancing on the ruins (of multinational corporations)”

we're dancing on the ruins of multinational corporations-Ha ha ha ha ha say goodbye to plastic & goodbye to cars no more convenience stores hello to stars no more wall street and no more pentagon thinking about these things makes me happy

goodbye to polystyrene we’ll put an end to the waste
there is no time for debating we have to make haste
if we are going to survive without computer program minds
we’re going to have to can pop culture
and say hello to campfires and stomping barefeet
and naked amoebas hungry to eat
hello to primal conciousness and love for the land
now that coyotes are running the country

sayonara to suburbia and well manicured lawns bye bye barbie and ken doll pawns no more developers or slimeball execs your condos are on fire

etc…

That is an…um…interesting song.

Good casework, Martin!

case solved…

Sort of…

I am grateful for the time spent on this quest for knowledge Martin, so thanks, but I still don’t know what it sounds like!

I found the information you put up, but nothing else, and eventually (after two hours on google.com) emailed Casey Neill - who replied (after your posting).
Aparently there was an mp3 on audiogalaxy, but no longer. Apparently there is no sheet music available either from searching the music stores on both sides of the Atlantic
via the ‘net’.

Still looking though - because it is now a challenge to find it :astonished:)

Hey EDF,

Well, I found the words for you, and a couple of album names on which the track appears, plus some live gigs!

You may actually have to buy an album to hear the song, or maybe attend a gig, but whatever I wish you luck!
