cycling: Ride the Cobra!

This years easter cycling trip is all planned and set.
But I can’t go this year, and this time it really, really hurts :sniffle:

Here it is: The Cobra

Here is a youtube clip of the descent
I think I have to find some new cycling mates when they get back.

ah!!! those we got!!!

MarcusR- what part of Spain is this climb in??? Looks like something theVuelta would do

Hi!

It’s on the island Mallorca and I dont think it has been part of the Vuelta a España.
Still is the major climb of the Vuelta a Mallorca

Cheers!

That is awesome! I think I’d rather go up because going down I’d be scared s**tless. I’d wear out my brakes in the first 10 minutes.

What’s the average downhill speed? What’s the average uphill speed?

OOPS, so much for my knowledge of cycling climbs

Here you go:

Now you can plan your vacations for the next ten years

I feel the same way, I’m a pretty decent climber, but I usually chicken out on the way down and grasp the breaks to save my life

I have to ask them when they get back, but they will probably lie anyway :smiling_imp:

6.2 miles all at a 10% grade. My knees hurt thinking about it. I’ve never been able to figure the best way up hills.

You know that some young kid goes out there on a Fixed Gear and does laps all day “for fun”.

That one part where a car is parked on the shoulder of the road and all the bike riders are standing there looking down the mountain was sort of sobering. What beautiful terrain though, really stunning.
