Although I’ve got a very nice low D whistle on the way, I’m thinking I want to start learning flute and eventually make it my main session instrument. If anyone has been thinking of trying out the mandolin and has a Tipple lying around, I’d love to just do a straight-up swap.
The mando I’ve got is the same model as seen here (although the sunburst on mine is brighter):

It’s a nice beginner’s mandolin to learn on, and has enough volume to be heard in small sessions. But, like a Tipple, it’s certainly something you’d want to upgrade from eventually if you got serious. A gigbag comes with it.
I’d prefer the 3-piece Tipple with the wedge, but frankly I’m not gonna be picky if it’s not. My main requirement is that it’s in the key of D.
