Serpent Music is open for business again, and I am building and shipping whistles. At present, this is restricted to the Village Smithy line, including the new Village Smithy Alto whistles, available in A and B-flat.
I will begin manufacturing the brass and combination whistles, and all the tunables, when I get the rest of my machinery down here. Right now, the construction is going on in Alpharetta, GA, a northern suburb of Atlanta.
My website is once again open, too.
Thank you all for your continued patronage, and thanks to Dale for continuing to provide this wonderful forum. Send me an email and say “hi” even if you don’t want to buy a whistle. And somebody tell me where to find sessions around here!
Cheers,
Bill Whedon

I love the chiff I get with your Village Smithy whistle. It is the one I choose when I want to play something “with personality.” Having chiff coming in at random places is like getting free ornaments.
This is bad form, and I know it, but hey, I didn’t advert at all last month, so cut me a bit of slack. People asked, and I wanna reply. I doubt the bump will get me a whole bunch of orders.
I’m in Alpharetta, GA, a northern suburb of Atlanta. Right now, I’m still negotiating space, both to live and to set up shop, but I’m able to do some of the less machinery-intensive whistles, being the Village Smithy, so I’ve turned them back on at the website. In a month or so, I’ll bring down all the rest of my tools, and get all the lines running again.
There’s the answer, won’t bump it again.
Thanks for your patience!
Bill
Bill,
I got one of your c.2000 whistles in a trade some years ago and didnt much care for the breath requirements. I even wrote you about it.
BUT…
Since over time I learned how to breathe through a whistle it is my favorite for taking on the road. Nice and quiet for hotel rooms, and a really nice pure sound.
