CP: DRONE CANE

I presently have a supply of cane, harvested in California for making drone reeds. I can supply it for anything from smaller than NSP to 1/2" dia. tubes for your Bavarian bog blaster. As about every uilleann piper coming through or writing to me, has hit me up for tenor drone cane (3.5-5.0mm), I have much less of it. I offer drone cane, per your specifications, at $1.00 per tube, except the rare 3.5 to 5.0mm sizes, which are $2.00 per tube. To select the cane for you, I will need to know the diameter you require and the MINIMUM length. The diameter should be specific, with an acceptable range eg. 6mm +/- 0.2mm; or 5.0mm to 6.0mm; or 5/16" +/- 1/16", for example. I realize some pipes require a vary narrow range of diameter, such as some single-beating chanter reeds, so you can order say 9.00mm +/- 0.1mm for that. If you are experimenting with a drone and want to try a shorter, fatter reed and a longer thinner reed in a drone, you may want a wider range, like 7.0 to 8.5mm for example. I do not know “the best diameter for a Henderson GHB bass drone” or “a tenor drone for your gaita in do”. Some reeds need to be very short for their diameters. Usually drone reeds are about 10 or more times the diameter equals the length, but some pipes need a much shorter ratio. For these reeds I have a fair amount of “stubby” tubes. I will offer the stubby tubes at $0.50 each and give the minimum length required. Shipping is paid by the buyer. I usually send smaller amounts by first class mail. Overseas orders are accepted and shipped at cost. I accept cash, checks, money orders or drafts in US funds only. Add 3% if you want to use paypal. Trades considered. Chanter cane also available. Ted Anderson

Hello fellow Reed Makers !
Ted came by my place here in Carmel Valley awhile ago, and gave me some of this new Drone Cane.
It’s Good Stuff, so get it while the supply lasts, as quality Arundo donax is getting rarer in
California, year by year.
