Copper

I know this question has been asked in the past…but here goes again:

Where is there an outlet for .020 and .021 copper sheet in the states (that come in reasonable sizes)?

thanks

Try contacting a local roofing contractor who works with copper, he would have plenty of offcuts that he’d give or sell to you. You could also try a local scrapyard for old copper tanks of some kind. Best to bring a calipers with you.

RORY

Special shapes has .016 & .025 , this is where many U.S. pipemakers get their brass tubing as well. http://specialshapes.com/flatsheets.html . This is the wholesale division of the parent company K&S Engineering. You can find these products in many hardware stores, Ace for example, and hobby shops throughout the U.S. Cheers, Seth

I’ve found .020 copper rectangle sheets at Home Depot before, in the roofing department, but it was several years back. Might be worth a look. Copper flashing too. Bring a Vernier caliper.

Check this place.Onlinemetals.com.

I’ve purchased copper flashing from a good hardware store.

Also I’m sure McMaster Carr sells it http://www.mcmaster.com

edit - for example: http://www.mcmaster.com/#copper-sheets/=f2flif edit again - the provided url does not seem to take one to the page with the details - you need to click on the thickness in the left column.
Note - I have not compared prices
