Cook Book for College Student...

I could kick myself, because I was looking thru the perfect little book at Barnes and Noble this Spring, and didn’t buy it, don’t ask me why. Now I want it, but don’t know the title or the author. Aaaaauuuuurrrgghhhh!!!

I guess I was thinking all my college sons would be getting their meals in the cafeteria. It doesn’t look like that’s gonna be happenin’ this year.

Anyway, it was some kind of little cookbook with other practicle advice in it, I think the word “Mom” was in the title, was it something like “What to Cook When Mom’s Not Here”? or etc??? does that ring a bell with anyone???

What’s for dinner?

Was it this one? Where’s Mom Now That I Need Her?: Surviving Away from Home

Wow, who knew Amazon.com would have 3 pages of books with that title?

But nope, it doesn’t seem to be one of those…

How would I search this…?

Thanks, I.D.10-t

i saw there is a companion book, what to do when DAD. the titles of those books sound sweet.

I went to Amazon.com, typed in “cookbook college mom”
Clicked on the first book and then clicked “Explore similar items” and it was on the page.

A lucky guess.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Butter bread, insert cheese (lunchmeat), wrap in tinfoil, iron.

When I were a lad, I got a copy of “Cooking in a Bedsitter” by Katherine Whitehorn. Kept me alive at University. Good book. Still in print.

Another good one is “Dad’s Own Cook Book” by Bob Sloan.

Of course, there’s no replacing experience and an understanding of the concepts and theory in cooking. Then you don’t need to rely on recipies.

If they have access to Food Network I can highly reccomend a show called “Good Eats.” It’s entertaining and you can learn a lot from it.

Good suggestions!
