Those who are happy with only the D foot generally don’t get into the lower than D notes even though the meri C# is there
whereas those who are into the lower notes will count them in wherever and however they can get them.
Come on, D foot, C foot, B foot…it’s just splitting hairs compared to the mighty paunalon!

Now that’s a footjoint! Imagine, fiddle tunes dipping down to G now within easy(?) reach…
Tintin - that looks more like Sputnik than a flute! I bet it would double as a TV antenna as well…
Eric
Calum Stewart does a meri B on his recording Earlywood (track 12).
I saw a B foot with register for D/Eb flutes at Tom Aebi’s workshop last year. He said, though, that he wasn’t happy with the B key touch placement, both options (in line with C and C# touches, in the “bend” of the C/C# touches) are not very well accessible.
Thanks everybody for their info. Just to let you know I went with a used Lehart from french ebay for €800. It turs out that the flute is around 15 years old, doesn’t even have the new lehart stamp just the initals, and aparently it was owned by Sylvain Barou sometime in the past.
Anyhow I’m very pleased with it, it does give that lovely wooden flute sound, even with my beginner embouchure. Despite being a tad utilitaristic I like the look. A small pic:
