Seems like some folks here have forgotten the “Reasonable Person Pricinple” outlined in the forum announcements by the moderators of this site. Might be worth another read, eh?
Precisely! A student is looking for a second-hand copy. I guess the “reasonable person principle” of assuming someone would “get that” is an error on my part.
Oh well, back to assuming most the of the general public is comprised of stooges after all…

So, where does he say he wants it for free?
When I read the post, I took it to mean he wants to buy a second-hand copy of the book.

I was responding to his quite unnecessary sarcasism…he then goes on to excuse his deliberate and carefully chosen words by assuming we are all mindreaders, worse stooges, his words after all…a simple thanks but a student of mine is looking for a second hand copy would have been fine, civilized and respecting the reasonable person principle. But no this arrogance is compounded by his latest reply.
Well he can stick his request right up his arse
