Clarke sound-a-likes?

Does anyone know of other whistles that sound like a Clarke? It has a sort of breathy sweetness that I really enjoy. So, just wondering if other whistles exist with a similar sound. Thanks!

Shaw

My one disappointment with these is the shear ammount of air
they require :frowning: a tad loud too.

Jerry Freeman tweaks some keys of Shaws, which helps with the air requirement.

I might look into getting one of these and asking Jerry to work his magic on it. I’m just looking for something with a pure and sweet sound with a little breathiness. If anyone else has suggestions, I’d be glad to hear them.

You are in luck. There’s one for sale and already tweaked by Jerry on the used instrument exchange.

Look under the ‘Inexpensive’ header for the Tweaked Shaw.

Summary
If you like Shaws or Clarkes with that traditional chiffy sound, Jerry’s tweaked Shaw is a definite improvement over an untweaked version. The more I play this whistle, the more I’m reminded of my roots (I started on a Clarke) and the more it grows on me. Plus, I can see that I’m just going to have to have it for outdoors play and loud sessions.

Does Freeman still do Tweaked Shaws?
I don’t see them listed on his Ebay page.
