I just tried to find Clare whistles, and their website seems to have disappeared and I can’t find them linked actively anywhere else. Can anyone confirm?
A few years ago I tried to buy some two-piece whistles from their website. The order went through, but I never got any kind of communication (or any whistles) and eventually had to resolve it with my credit card company after they didn’t answer my emails. So not a confirmation exactly, but I think even when their website was still there, the company wasn’t.
According to this post back in 2020, it appears that Olive Le Bas was attempting to keep the business going after David Le Bas died, but there doesn’t seem to be much available information as to what’s become of the Le Bas Company.
Not of much use to anyone but I just saw a bunch of Clares, including two piece ones, for sale. They were (new) old stock though.
There are still a few out there. If you are into that sort of thing, ofcourse
