Christmas decorating

It’s that time of the year again, when people begin saying “The holiday season just keeps getting earlier and earlier. I saw Christmas items in the store, and it’s not even Hallowe’en!”

For the person who’d rather make things than buy them, I’ve compiled a Web page of origami Christmas projects that I’ve diagrammed (trust me, the diagramming was hours and hours of work). Most of these things can be made from scrap paper, or paper you already have, so the cost is minimal or nonexistent. For tree ornaments, a paperclip can be bent to an “S”-like shape, and attached with Elmer’s glue.

Thanks Walden. Nice designs, good work. Maybe I’ll try to make a few with my daughters.

Walden - would you mind if I print out a few of these for Noah to take into his Japanese class? Giving you credit, of course.

Wow. Cool. Thanks. I’ll try some.

Just to emphasise that point: This weekend in the UK seven container lorries of chocolate worth £500,000 ($750,000???). Besides the value involved the bit that caught my eye was that amongst the haul were a great number of Easter Eggs.

BTW thanks for the designs. I’m going to have a great deal of fun with those.

Mmm… chocolate Easter eggs should be a new Christmas tradition! I’m not opposed!

BTW, I’m in process of diagramming the Froebel star, which is a Christmastime favorite, made from 4 strips of paper, and will add it to the page, when the diagram is complete.

Aw, you guys are waaaay behind… the local Wally World (you may know it as Wal-Mart) had X-mas stuff up weeks ago… they aren’t even pretending to wait for anything anymore… sheesh!

I must admit to some disappointment when I saw that the Waterbomb was intended to be an ornament and not a weapon. Good work, Walden!

It can be. Just use sturdy enough paper to hold your liquid of choice long enough to toss it.

For the apparently not-so-small whistler/origamist crossover group. Some of these I know, but I always forget to use them as Christmas decorations! Thanks, Walden.
