Cheers,

Michael

I can’t believe someone hasn’t snapped that up, Michael. Good luck 2nd time 'round.

Not sure how best to move on this beast… amazing that there has been nearly zero serious inquiries. Don’t know if I’ve priced it too high, too low, need more photos, etc. I figured someone would snatch it right up…

If you have an idea on how to sell it, other than drastically reducing the price, please drop me a PM… I’m nearly to the point of offering a commision to anyone who can help find a buyer.

Thanks for any ideas,

Michael

I could be mistaken, but I think that a high number of bids tends to attract even more bidding. No bids can scare some people off or make people more conservative. Maybe if you start with $100 opening bids and a high reserve? Just a suggestion. Also, does ebay allow you to marqui an item being sold in the states in Europe?

I’m one of the dozens of pipers, I’m sure, who are dying to be able to own this set. Part of the problem with selling it now is just pure timing. With less than a month 'til Christmas, most people have their money spent on other things!
I’m guessing you would do a whole lot better in May, just as “piping season” warms up here in the US with lots of tionols, festivals, and gatherings being scheduled. The taxes and the Christmas bills will be paid off (hopefully) and who knows, the economy might even be better by then.
Good luck regardless, and if I inherit in the next two weeks, I’ll be in touch!

Christmas expenditures… A window of opportunity is surely considered.
There are some who receive year-end bonuses that would love to have this B set. Perhaps.

My thoughts are springtime… not for changes in weather but tax refund checks!

I agree. Our business (automobile) is always way off during these weeks. I can say that with confidence because I’ve been at it for 20 years. Like a car a major musical instrument like them loverly Bs is most often something one buys for him/herself. Those kinds of sales tend to suffer during this time of the year. Just give it till after the 1st or at least after the holidays.

Best,
Paul

At the kind suggestion of a fellow C&Fer, I’ve changed the auction to allow shipping anywhere in the world…

STILL on auction, people!

Bid bid BID!

Bumping.

C’mon people…

Its a very nice set all set up to play and in pristine condition. Lots of folks here on the board have heard and seen it at the SoCal club meetings.

Even if you’re on a multi-year waiting list for the “right set” from your preferred pipemaker, you could literally have this set tomorrow to play until your turn comes in line.

When your new set arrives, you could sell this one to another C&Fer probably for what you paid for it. You’d be happy, they’d be happy.

Or you could hope a nicer full B set shows up some day. Or maybe a cheaper one that you could spend 6 months futzing with to make marginally playable…
