Chiffy Chat Christmas CD in the works again this year...

For those of you who come into the chatroom on a regular or irregular basis, you may know that every year we try to put together a Christmas CD …well…for no particular reason. I have just revisited some of our tunes of the past which are online and thoroughly enjoyed that trip down memory lane.
To get to the point of this post, we are calling on all of you who have done tunes in the past or would like to join in on this years effort. You don’t really have to be a regular chatter to join in and if you don’t want to do a tune but would like to come in and chat, we’d love to have more people join us. Most of us are not in the chatroom until after 11 or 12 pm EST but hope to see some of you there…

By the way, this “CD” is really just a collection of our tunes that we have hosted online for anyone to download.

This has really become a lovely tradition! I agree, Moon, about the trips down memory lane. Each year I put the music on a CD and it gets me peacefully through the remarkably long “to-do” list that always develops around the holidays. And working on something to contribute, sometimes collaborating with my chiffdom friends, has also become an annual joy.

2002-2005 tunes are here: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/zozm/lst?&.dir=/Music+and+Related+Stuff&.src=bc&.view=l
(Alan writes: “being on my Yahoo Briefcase site you may find them hard to access. Refreshing when a ‘page not found’ error occurs often yields the page.”)

Where are last year’s? My link to that doesn’t seem to lead to anything.

Thanks for organizing this, Moon, and Alan for hosting.

The rest of us attend the early-bird round about 8 or 9 EST. We wouldn’t mind seeing you either . . .

Although I’ve never contributed to the Chiffy Chat CD, I know they have a lot of fun putting them together and I’ve enjoying listening to them. You know the holidays are here when they start recording the music (and when Alan puts on the sleigh scene lampshade and does the annual “Reindeer Rumba!”).

Susan

Well about last years contributions…um…they disappeared off the site that was hosting them. ( Alan can explain more about that one)

We are hoping that somebody might have downloaded them and if so could they contact Alan so we can put them up again. Alan and I had quite a time last night trying to recall what tunes we even did last year and did frantic searches through our hard drives looking for for “clues” as to what we ourselves had recorded. I think that’s probably a sign of old age or something. Anyway if anyone has them or has their contributions from last year still on file would they please let us know so we can repost them…

Last word was that Alan is still looking through his “stuff” to see if he could find them…

With great relief I am happy to report that 9 of our clips from Christmas 2007 have been recovered and will be posted soon, probably where the rest are now located. If anyone knows if there were more than 9 please let us know.

Thanks Denny…

ahem…2006

not had Thanksgiving 2007 yet

Hehe..oops…2006 I mean…

Well at least I see that someone pays attention to my posts…er..I meant to say that…uh..yeah…it was a test…

They have where Moonlight lives.

Old age not only of myself but my hard drive which crashed. Been searching through CDs I burned when the drive started running slowly but haven’t found the Christmas tunes yet. They are probably on the CD that won’t work. :swear:

The site where I had posted the tunes deleted them all because I had not checked in for a month. I guess I forgot to read the fine print. :frowning:

I may be able to put that bad drive in an old backup computer I have here and dredge the tunes from it if the disc will still run at all. We shall see.

Perhaps there were only nine tunes from 2006…

there is a distinct possibility that I was distracted by solstice and didn’t make it back to collect any others.

Too many kids, too many extended families, we moved our part of the holiday out of the other’s way some years back.
