Calling all Chiffy Chatroom Christmas Tune Contributors...

Okay so there’s 15 days left for all of you who still want to contribute to the annual chatroom Christmas tune endeavour. We have five submissions so far and many more promised so now would be the time to get those tunes rolling in. I know you all think there’s LOTS of time yet but…ahem..we won’t be accepting submissions after December 25th.

To hear what we have so far go to:

Naturally, all virtual proceeds from this virtual CD will go to the virtual chatroom fund for the upgrade of the virtual men’s room big screen TV, and new carpeting for the chatroom lounge to replace the orange shag The remainder will go to the purchase of new socks for Alan.

What a lovely page! I hadn’t even looked before now.
I’d contribute the dog howling along to What Child is This while the cat bops my bow out of alignment with her head, but…um…maybe next year.

that is sooo much nicer than Alan’s briefcase…

musesboxers…should we get him some…

My Windows media player cannot play these files. It suggests I save them first. Is there an alternate way to listen to them?

How does one go about submitting an mp3 file to the collection?

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

works for me…

right click/save link as

I’m having trouble playing these, too, but my default player for mp3’s is RealPlayer. I can, however, save them and play them later.

There never seems to be an end to problems getting music clips to play for everyone. When I click the links I get an ‘Open/Save’ message and choose open and Windows Media Player opens and plays them. On some sites I have had to choose save or right click and ‘save target as’ first then play them.

If you want to contribute a clip please email me at the address at the bottom of my post.

Three new clips up, one by Carol with her band Grass Stains and two by Claudine and her band!

hmm … my group is not quite a “band”, just a pre-christmas party with a few friends & family. You will hear the difference

We are now up to 12 clips and hope there will be more added soon.

Time is dwindling!

I would if I just knew how.

Good listening there.

What kinda oboe are you playin’? What keywork?
Any advice to a former oboe player who’s forgotten what little she knew about the thing but is going to give it a go again asap.

Alan, you have a PM.

It is a Gordet oboe with what I think is full conservatory keywork.

I am still learning the instrument. Only had it a few years and not played it much until now but getting to like it more and more.

I was VERY fortunate to have a lapsed oboe player give me this instrument otherwise I would not have one.

Hope you get your wish and have an oboe soon!

Thanks to all of you who have submitted tunes to our yearly Chatroom musical endeavour. And it’s not too late to add a few more…

This tradition has really become a meaningful part of Christmas for me. I always enjoying listening to these clips each year, knowing that these are my friends and fellow chiffsters performing and I thank you all again.

Merry Christmas !

Oops…I almost forgot…thanks so much Alan for putting these tunes up again this year. I really like what you’ve done with the site…

Even though I have had some “attendance” issues lately in the chat room, I agree with Moon completely–I look forward to the sharing of holiday music every year. Thanks, Moon, for rounding us up for this each year; and thanks, Alan, for hosting the music and making a beautiful page this year that is 100% pun free. Love and holiday cheer to all of Chiffdom and to the dear friends with whom I’ve warmed my toes around the blazing chat room Christmas fire for more than 5 years now.

I was going to say the same thing (surprise, surprise)! Your attendance issues were taken up at the last meeting of the Chat Room Board of Directors and we decided you may remain a member in good standing as long as you bring treats the next time you stop in. (See Moon for a list of acceptable treats–not just any old thing will wipe your slate clean!)

You lucky dog!!!

so, who do we talk to if we want to contribute a tune?

Email it to Alan.

thanks!
