I’m originally from northern Illinois, but have never gotten into the Chicago music scene much. I was thinking that when I’m home for the holidays I may try to get to a session or two in the city. a friend mentioned sessions at The Grafton, Tommy Nevins in Evanston, Chief O’Neills, and Martyrs. I know the ones at the Grafton are Sundays, does anyone know anything else about the others (or more)? any recommendations? thanks!

I’ve not yet worked up the courage (or time) to go to session, but I know a few people who play at the Grafton and they say it’s pretty good and friendly at all (but then, I don’t really know what that means, heh). I’ve heard good things about Martyr’s too but only in passing. The Irish Heritage Center still has a session at 7 on Wednesdays IIRC, whistler I know goes there sometimes and likes it.
