Chicago Celtic Fest cancelled

Due to the tragic events happening yesterday, the Chicago Celtic fest planned for this coming weekend has been cancelled.
I just had words from one of the participating musicians and I am passing along the news.
Sadly enough, I could not imagine such a festival happening.
We all feel too much anguish.
Let us just keep our thoughts and prayers for the thousands of people who will have to deal with their grief.

This weekend in Bismarck is our annual Folkfest celebration. This is sort of an Octoberfest but in September cause October is too darn cold in North Dakota. We are going ahead with the event. It’s not going to be as jubilent as other years. But we are trying to carry on. Trying not to let the terrorists beat us down. The kids in the marching bands are preparing some new songs of patriotism to show their support. They may have us down but we are not out.

Deadwood’s not cancelled the Deadwood Jam. A few of the bigger acts won’t make it, but I’ll be there, whistling away! Jigs and reels don’t feel very good right now, but Neil Gow’s Lament on the Death of his Second Wife feels perfect! Lovely Scots tune!
