I just got the news that the Grand Junction Fair is not to be this year ( and ever?)
DO NOT PANIC! RMS autumn reunion will happen!
Sessions will be held in at least one place (Mack’s) and probably more. Joe Graham is going to have a stage somewhere for his singers, and will have some time alloted for whistle players. The Celtic Dancers will find some way to perform. My two grand daughters are part of that ensemble.
Free whistles will be available. French toast, too. There may be some scheduling adjustments, so get your options in soon if you have a better time (than September 20).
Im not entirely sure about the festival not happening at all.. ITs been a couple months since I heard rumours from an insider, who is no longer inside.. HEre is the scoop as last I heard rumour of it.. :roll:
Apparetly it is supposed to be some manner of non-descript festival held at the Musuems Cross Orchard Farm. IT is all about Folk Music. and who only knows what else. No Piping, at all. No Clan information booths, No athletics. ITs very sketchy info, and made no sense at all, hence the name “non-descript festival”
Joe just came over, and we talked about an alternative fair which he is organizing. He guarantees a venue for the whistle players. an opportunity for bagpipes, and dancers as well as his singers. He’ll have more for us to ponder in a few days.
It seems this is only a one year hiatus, not a permanent loss.
I thought the festival was scheduled for Sept 19-20. Same place. When did it get canceled?
