Today my Busman Jerry Lee Special arrived. Blackwood head, pink ivory tube, stainless steel fittings. This little fella looks just stunning. We all know about Paul’s reputation as an artist with wood but this little beauty simply has to be seen to be believed.
I haven’t played it yet. I’m still in my office and there are too many people around even for a show off like me.
Yes, yes, I know: photos. As soon as I can find someone here who can take a photo that will do it justice and get the thing into a computer, I’ll be glad to oblige. Believe me, even if it takes a little while to get a photo up, it’ll look just as good when it eventually gets there.
my coocobolo Busman turned up 25 mins ago, my boss signed for it and when I went downstairs to collected it I had to play a few tunes in the office tht was ok 'till the owners wife walked in (and one of the directors)!
I can’t wait to see a picture! I tell you what, Wombat…why don’t you just mail it to me…I’ll take some pictures and get it back to you in, say, six to eight weeks, tops, how does that sound?
Have fun with it! I can’t imagine how hard it must be to get a brand new pretty like that and not be able to give it a try right away…your fingers must be itching!
Nice try Redwolf. But, I think you’ll have your time cut out taking care of his sister, don’t you?
Well, I have played it now, for all of 20 minutes. Beautiful. Very sweet, pure tone. Just sings in the top octave. Solid bottom octave. Comfortable air requirements. Very responsive. Unlike some, I didn’t find that it required much getting used to—love at first toot.
