BUCKET OF WHISTLES--WISH TO SELL AS ONE LOT

In an attempt to make good on my ongoing promise to my wife to ‘clean up the music room’ and to create more space for the whistles I actually play, I have decided to try to offload this ‘Bucket of Whistles’ (minus the bucket), Recorders and Flute, preferably as one lot. There are some genuinely decent whistles in this group as well as a lot of generic bodies for the fine young cannibalizers out there. The three handmade copper (tubing) whistles, for example, are in tune and quite playable. I have no notion of price, and this is not meant to be an auction. However, if anyone is interested in the lot, please send me a PM and a vague offer. I suspect I will eventually put the whole lot on E-Bay, but wanted to run the batch by the C & F Crowd first. I am not keenly interested in selling individual whistles from this group, largely because of the burden of packaging, shipping etc. I could probably be cajoled into adding one like new Generation B-Blat, as I have two real good handmades, but I sort of really like the Generation B-Flat, which I picked up at the Northeast Whistler Gathering in Ct. in late August.

If you want a photo of any or some of them (or the whole kit and caboodle) let me know. I think I would need a wide angle lens to get them all in one shot (just kidding!)

Without futher fanfare, here it is:

BUCKET OF WHISTLES, RECORDERS & ONE FLUTE (Minus the Bucket)
Susato Low D—(What can you say about the Susato Low D that hasn’t already been said?)

Dixon Low G w/ slightly offset (to the right bottom hole for my stumpy fingers. This modification is not a detriment, even to Piper’s Grip)

“Blues Whistle” By Erik the Flute Maker (signed): five holes in front, one in back, had good Susato type head on Bamboo Body, approx. 16” long. Neat Bluesy sound.

Susato Narrow Bore “A”

Set of Three (E-Flat, D and C) handmade Copper Whistles, a rustic but quite playable set, surprisingly in tune. Cannot recall name of maker. GOt them off the C & F Board. Searches back on the Board have not turned up the posting.

Clarke Sweetone C (White, Black head)

Generation C, Nickel Body, Blue Head

Clarke Sweetone D (Red, Black Head)

Clarke D, Tweaked by Thom Larson, one of my first whistles, since replaced. Gold trim essentially worn off. A well used whistle with still a bit of life in it.

Shaw D, Tweaked & With Cut Mouthpiece by Thom Larson (Thom did the tweak and cut as a favor after I granted him full waiver of liability), I have since replaced it with a Jerry Freeman Tweaked D without the cut. I prefer the uncut version.

Three Generic D Whistles (1 Little Black D, one Doolin D and one w/ label now off, probably was an Oak way back when.

Generation E-Flat, nickel body, blue head

Early (?) Dixon “D”- composite head, brass body

White ‘Polly’ D (Bill Weldon)

Dixon Composite Piccolo Head for Dixon D Whistle

WOODEN RECORDER (Schreiber Sonata, approx. 18” Long,)

Plastic Recorder (Gill, same length as a Generation C)

Yamaha Flute, white plastic, about 14” long

BUCKET SALE CANCELLED IN ITS ENTIRETY.

Who can say no to a C & F’er who wants a whistle or two?

The U.S. Postal System is the ultimate beneficiary of all this whistle movement. It’s too bad that the rest of our government doesn’t work as well.
