I know this set. I last saw it about a year ago. The guy who owns it now has rarely if ever played it. Here’s what I remember. It had an easy reed and played in tune except for the C# which was really sharp. The vents are all scalloped, almost to the point that that the front of the chanter is flat. It appeared well made, but not very fancy. I liked the leather work on the bellows and air hose. I believe it is stamped with Howard on the front of the chanter. The custom wood box that comes with it is HUGE - reminded me of a small pine coffin. ![]()
It’s funny, the Spillane tutor that he is selling with the set is the one that I loaned to him last year and now he is selling it with the set. Oh well… it’s not really worth the paper it’s printed on if you ask me. ![]()
Hope this helps
Jeff
