I know this set. I last saw it about a year ago. The guy who owns it now has rarely if ever played it. Here’s what I remember. It had an easy reed and played in tune except for the C# which was really sharp. The vents are all scalloped, almost to the point that that the front of the chanter is flat. It appeared well made, but not very fancy. I liked the leather work on the bellows and air hose. I believe it is stamped with Howard on the front of the chanter. The custom wood box that comes with it is HUGE - reminded me of a small pine coffin. 
It’s funny, the Spillane tutor that he is selling with the set is the one that I loaned to him last year and now he is selling it with the set. Oh well… it’s not really worth the paper it’s printed on if you ask me.

really? when i started that book was all i had and i found it a great help…if i had started with the “new approach to uilleann piping” i don’t think i would have stuck with it.
