beginners answer to long waiting time !!

Some pipe clubs do a loan out pipes scheme, where a complete beginner can get a loan of a pratice set to give pipes a go to see if they like them .

It would be a good idea if some pipemakers done the same,They could make up some no frills but playable pratice sets that they could loan out to beginners on their waiting list that have no pipes ,so they would have something to get started on while they were waiting, for their ordered pipes
I have not heard of any pipemakers doing this,but I,m surprised none do as it would be a real bonus to the beginners and i,m sure it would mean more business for the maker !!!

There are a few makers who loan out sets /chanters but whether they want this to be mentioned on the forum I do not know as it might well cause a stampede

Best to ask the question direct to the maker you were planning to get a set from to see if they will do this

Would guess some sort of security deposit may be necessary
