Oh dear. Well, I just figured his nose didn’t grow so he was wearing women’s underwear and that for some reason that was funny. I considered the male thing, but it just didn’t seem like there was much to work with there.

The clip comes from the Movie Shrek 2.
Perhaps some Hollywood story writers cross-dress and found humor in the the joke, enough to write it into the script.

Ah… thanks, Tony. Now I get it. I didn’t realise it was an actual quote from a movie. I read it as a standalone joke. A cr*p one at that.

I can see how that’d work as a visual gag in a Shrek movie.
