When you find yourself in danger
When you’re threatened by a stranger
When it looks like you will take a lickin’
There is someone waiting
who will hurry up and rescue you
just call…for SuperChicken.
Erm .. Dale …
You do realise what the Turkish translation of “bok” is???
MMmmm .. very tasty - bok, but yummy - like M&Ms .. or “pringles”!!! … love the chemicals!
If you’re afraid
you’ll have to overlook it.
Besides you knew the job was dangerous
when you took it.

I have been unable to find the original George of the Jungle theme.

That would have been so cheesey if it weren’t for the chicken sound effects. That made me believe.

Here’s my favorite rooster warrior. Anyone else read this book? It’s one of my all-time favorites.

I read it when I was 10 or 11..it was a great book. ![]()
That’s an interesting looking book . I may have to get that one for my granddaughter when she’s older. That way I can read it too. ![]()
My favorite “rooster” book is
The Killers, The Story of a Fighting Cock and a Wild Hawk
by Mannix, Daniel Pratt
I had to look this one up since I couldn’t remember the title, just that I loved this book. I checked it out from the library probably 25 years ago and a few years later was looking for it again and found it had been discarded and sold.
Tonight, all I could remember was the author’s last name and that he also wrote The Fox and the Hound. I finally found it in a list of out of print books for sale so guess what? I’ll soon have my own copy. ![]()
fair warning..it’s not a kids book. My mom was pretty liberal about what level of material she’d let me read when I was a boy.
Hmmmm, that makes it even more interesting. (My parents were the same way)
Neither is the Rooster and the Hawk book that I just ordered. But then, neither was the Fox and the Hound. Disney just made the movie that way.

Aah, Chauntecleer. I read that as a very young adult, and now I want to re-read it.
These videos bother the mom in me. ![]()
except for the first one- I don’t think that kid got flogged.
I seem to read it every few years. The mixture of beauty and horror, tragedy and heroism, is irresistable.
While looking for that picture, I found that the author had written a sequal. I am tempted to read it–I always wondered what happened to old Mundo Cani, after all–but I’m afraid it might prove disappointing compared to my ideas of what happened if/when Chauntecleer and John Wesley Weasel set out to rescue Mundo…Ah, decisions, decisions.
But back to the point: Chauntecleer kicks some serious tail. He could completely wipe out the kung-fu chicken dude with just a cold stare and a good crowing.
That is all.
