Calling all whistlers, but also players of flutes, fiddles, banjos, guitars, whatever…I’ll be setting up a date or two in San Francisco (most likely, although other Bay Area locations aren’t out of the question) in December for a fun Christmas public session–also known as busking. Any tips will go to a pre-decided on charity, and we’ll have any permits necessary.
If interested in being on the email info list, please PM with your private email. And read the “Speaking of Christmas” thread for more information.
You know, if anyone’s interested in doing this in Santa Cruz, either this year or some other year, I wouldn’t mind checking into what would be involved. You don’t need permits to busk here, but you do have to move to a different location every hour or so. People are generally pretty supportive of buskers here, now that the “career homeless” have moved on.
If it would help round out the instrumentation (that is, to avoid this undertaking becoming Kar on the fiddle accompanied by 22 tin whistles), I could mention this carol buskin’ idear to a few folks I know who play other instruments–fiddle, mandolin, accordian, etc. A guitar or bouzouki would be cool too. I’ll try to join you, depending on the when and wheres.
