I save My music in .WAV format mostly because Hard drive permits and I want to be able to go back to as close to as original formats as I can as formats change. I now want to mix some MP3s on my limited storage MP3 player, but want to preserve the folder structure such as “Kay Kyser\The Best of the Big Bands\Huggin’ and Chalkin’” so that the menu options work.
So is there a program that will batch convert .WAV to MP3 that will look 3-4 folders deep?
Most programs have the option of saving the converted file to the same location as the source. I’ve used a couple different programs, but since I have Goldwave for other purposes, I used that now.
The contextual advertising on this page says “Convert Wav to MP3 with our free software: http://www.nch.com.au/switch”
Not that I know anything about it. I’ve only ever re-saved individual files on either Sonic Stage or Audacity.
Thanks for the info. I have just been able to convert my collection at about an 11:1 ratio while retaining the file info. Should have used the word Convert in my google search I guess.
