Hi folks
i’m looking for relaxing and slow backing tracks for some improvisations.
Despite my searches i found nothing. A little help for good websites or cd will be very appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

Band in a Box is the long time leader in backing track generation. http://www.pgmusic.com/ Band in a Box has improved a lot in recent years.
You did not mention what type of music you want to play but BiaB will handle jazz, folk, rock, R&B, etc. as well as a number of Irish styles.
Band in a Box has been around for many years. It is used as a practice aid and as a composition tool, among other uses. All you have to do is enter the chords of the tune, measure by measure to build the backing track. In the old days it was all midi synth based and sounded pretty darned cheesy. Things have progressed though.
What has made it more believable and useful is the fairly recent addition of what they call “Real Band”. These are loops, actual recordings, of rather well known artists and session players (Trevor Hutchinson as an example) playing in the various styles the package supports. The supported styles do tend towards the more contemporary side of things, quasi Lunasa sounding for instance. You’d have guitar, bouzouki, bass, piano and bodhran to form a band to play with.
The drawback is that Band in a Box is not purely trad in its content. It is more jazz, bluegrass, blues, country and rock oriented. But the basics are there for building jigs, reels, slipjigs and hornpipes among others. Yes it has some drones too, should you want them. BiaB may be overkill for you. Still you might go to their website and have a listen to the audio demos of the more trad styles. You can start with this link: http://www.pgmusic.com/realtracks.all.php?os=win#104 And they presently have on offer a Bonus PAK which includes several session tunes like Rakish Paddy, Toss the Feathers and Lark in the Morning already done up for you should you need a kickstart to get on your way.
Oh, and it is far from free. And you really have to buy the full-freight package or at least the UltraPAK to get the trad-ish styles.
There are other backing track generators out there but none that I know of do a credible job with trad styles.
Hope that is helpful to you.

Well this is the kind of sound i’m looking for…
OK. Band in a Box is perfect for that Merlin whistles type of track. It’s all in the BiaB package, plenty of spacey new-age, dreamy Eithne type of synth styles in there. Stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogyza2Vo8cA That was done by Musiker Lanze playing in the parts to a sequencer and then having the sequencer play them back while playing the whistle. Biab will actually play the synth parts for you, act as the sequencer and allow you to record the whistle audio track on top of them all.
And the beauty of BiaB is that it is extremely flexible. You can change keys instantly, re-compose the chords as you like, play through the piece as many times as you like, no limitations as you would have with an existing set piece of pre-recorded music.
There is another tactic you could try. Karaoke software should remove the lead voice from any recording. You could pick and choose what you want to play along with. You can extract the audio from those YouTube tracks and run them through a karaoke filter to remove the whistles. The basics of how these things work is not perfection but it goes a long way towards what you are looking for. It may not scrub the lead whistles all out but it would be a faint part of the remaining mix. Then you play the lead yourself.
Re-mix software is also meant for the grabbing, editing and repurposing of existing music - thievery actually. But it can do what you want quite well. Roland’s R-Mix is pretty good at filtering out only certain instruments and leaving the rest of a recording in place. http://www.rolandus.com/products/details/1176 There is a demo version to try if you like.
