Astronomers detect 10th planet

Only about 9 billion miles away, about 3000 KM in diameter, i.e., slightly larger than Pluto. Temporarily being called 2003UB313, which doesn’t sound very Roman mythological.
Nasa’s site has the story here.

Here it is in relation to the rest of the solar system:

Interesting.

After Pluto, we can call it Goofy

Just think, three more little circles and you’ll have the C&F logo.

There are number of new discoveries out there showing that Solar System might have a few additional planets. One of them has an orbit like Pluto but they refuse to call the new one a ‘planet’ and that if Pluto were discovered today it would not be qualified to be a planet.

Is this within the Oort cloud? At that distance I’ll be convinced if in 30 years it’s still in a position that mathmatically works out to a solar orbit.
Of course I may not be alive in 30 years.

I think the astronomers will have to define the word planet
Pluto- Kuiper belt object
Sedona and Quaror?

Where will it all end?

I’m just hopeful that our horoscopes will be updated properly.

No, wait… 2003UB313 is in retrograde… So… avoid technology, become a Luddite!
