As it's Burns night here's a thread about the Haggis

Our Burns Night supper went down swimmingly last night.
a few folks had made their own haggis, so there were a few different recepies, lots of tosting, the works.
great fun.

Burns Night’s better than christmas. :stuck_out_tongue:

Around Phila. we have scrapple. Same kind stuff, different animals. I like’em both.

Playing a belated Rabbie night gig tonight.

We have a resident Scotsman stereotype in the village, who will be doing the Address to the Haggis. He’s great, he has loads of RB’s stuff committed to memory, and can recite the whole of “Tam O’Shanter” without hesitation.

I’ve been promised some vegetarian haggis! Although, you have to wonder if vegetarian haggis is a valid concept really…

Anyway, we’ll be playing “Donald Where’s Your Trousers” and “Ramblin’ Rover”… other than that we’re a bit short of Scottish songs!

I almost killed me but I did make it to the Burns supper job our pipe band did tonight. Of course, since I needed to get done work on time, we had about two days worth of mail plus those lovely boxholders that add an hour to the route time. ARRRRGHHHH! I barely made it. Then we had to play 30 minutes solid. That may not seem like much to most, but it’s a killer for our band. My arms were already tired from work and then this flipping sticks for 30 minutes!

But, the food was good, and one of the pipers had a flask of peach moonshine so all was not lost. But, I tell you I’m beat.
