Approved Charity Whistle Auction

Cleared with Dale.

I am donating one like-new Fred Rose blackwood high D whistle for auction.

The proceeds from the sale will be split between the Chiffboard and the American Heart Association. 80% to upkeep, and 20% to the AHA. If the AHA will let me do it in the name of Chiff and Fipple, I will; otherwise, I’ll do it in honor of Arlene, surrogate chiffer and wife of Jerry the Tweaker.

Please look at the auction on eBay!

No reserve.

Stuart

Good for you Stuart!! You’re a whistler with HEART.. I’d bid on it, but I have quite a few wooden whistles already.

I bid, too. I already have a Rose whistle and it’s fantastic. I think this auction will do very well…it’s a great whistle and we all love charity causes.

Thanks!

Oh, in case you’re wondering, the listing is revised because I had to post the listing to get the eBay listing number . . . which I wanted to include in the thread . . . but I wanted a link to the thread from the eBay listing.

Did that make sense?

Stuart

Wow, it’s certainly a beautiful whistle.

Cool Stu

I agree, Rose whistles are fantastic, some of the best out there - heck, I like 'em so much I owned 3 or 4 Rose D whistles (in different woods) at one time!

Loren

My Rose whistle is my favorite wood whistle of all time, I can certainly agree that someone will be getting one of the very best there is.

good on you, Stu

Mary

And for cheap, too . . . they’re currently about US$300 new.

I’m just sayin’.

Stuart

The WHISTLE HAS SOLD!

And Houston, we had no problem. Seeing as how the winning bidder lives here, and decided he wanted to go on an errand to a hardwarde store less than 1/4 mile from my house. I delivered the instrument at noon today, and took payment.

So, we raised about $160 towards the upkeep of the board, and $40 to the AHA.

Way to go!

Stuart

Well done, Stuart! You are very generous!

Carol

Thanks, Carol!

Dale and I talked it over, and we have decided to change the proportions to 60% to C&F, 40% to AHA.

So, $120 to the board, $80 to the AHA.

And thanks to Mo Edmonds, C&F Newsletter reader, for the winning bid. I don’t think he reads the board, just the newsletter.
