So, it isn’t my imagination after all–the moon gets larger and smaller! Ha!
It’s obvious. As it moves closer to the sun, it inflates more.
Nah, it’s just breathing really slowly.
Having learned of the possible optical illusion of the moon seeming to appear larger when closer to the horizon, I generally tend to ignore my impressions of the moon’s apparent size, but last night, I couldn’t help but be struck by the moon’s fullness, brightness and greater size in the sky. How glad I am to see that it was not mere illusion, but a real phenomenon, with full scientific authentication.
It really was a wonderful moon last night. It’s magnificence made the night shrink back a bit. It’s brilliance was almost blinding as I walked along the path. And then I stepped in dogsh!t. ![]()
