I decided to check Seth Gallagher’s website for anything new and saw that he has a help wanted sign for his workshop. If only I was 350 miles closer!

I called him about that, and I think I’m going to move to NY and do it. I’m calling him again this afternoon. It’s a big jump for me, but I’m young and it’s just what I’ve wanted to do for a long time now. So I think I’m gonna do it. Wish me luck.

I’m not gone yet, for goodness sake! And I’ll not be leaving the chiffboard anyway. I’ll see you in November, “uillmann.” I still haven’t managed to get in touch with Seth again, he’s always not there when I’ve called. I wouldn’t start until January at the earliest, though I’m hoping February or March. That wuld make the drivers license thing work more smoothly, with all the rules about it, three months here, thirty days there…

Lewis, I talked to Mr. Quinn at our Tionol a few weeks ago about how your C# was coming along, because I would love to have one too some day. He said it was still in development.

I would settle for a C# Harrington, though. :smiley:

It looks like I didn’t reach my desicion quick enough, or didn’t reach Seth quick enough after I reached my decision, because he’s gotten somebody from Detriot there already, checking it out. :cry: So I’m bummed. And I feel so stupid. But I asked him to keep me in mind next time he’s hiring, and he said he would.
Meanwhile, I’m going to try to get started making pipes and flutes on my own. I have a little lathe, but no tools yet. I’m going to get some.

You will do just fine, and think you will be able to stamp your name on the stuff you make instead of someone else’s.. :slight_smile: I started on my own, and am still doing everything on my own… but it helps to get advice from a good pipemaker.. I chose Tim Britton when I was looking into pipemaking… :slight_smile:
