I know it sounds far fetched but believe it or not pipemakers are human and subject to the same stresses and strains of everyday life just like the rest of us.
It should also be borne in mind that pipemakers are mostly working on their own often for very long hours and cannot be sat in front of the computer all day answering e-mails or taking phone calls. In addition to getting orders out they have to deal with callers, customers who continually bugger up their reeds etc. etc.
Having worked alongside one for a short while I can assure you that it is not the easiest or most stress free way to earn a living and certainly not one I would choose. Give me the 9.00 to 5.00, Mon to Fri, work for someone else, occupation any day.

I know that something like this can be a serious concern for some, myself included, but I think it is best in the long run to avoid conjecture and comment regarding somebody’s business and ultimately, their very character.
