I am wondering if there are any Pipers on the board who have bought Davy Stephenson Pipes? I was thinking of buying a practice set, but have been put off by the comments of another piper.
Did the pipes arrive promptly as promised?
The reason I am asking is that it has been suggested to me that perhaps his after sales services maybe are non-existent. Anyone have any views on the After Sales Services of this Pipe-Maker?
See recent above posts regarding Stephenson. Hopefully this won’t get things started again. But you can’t go by one person’s negative experience. It can be something to consider, but so can the personality differences of both maker and buyer, and what was agreed upon. Sometimes, although rare, I think, things can go wrong, and the blame is not always the makers… Nor by the same token, is it the buyers.
I think if more people like a makers work, than a very small number who don’t… we may be talking miscommunication problems and firey personality clashes… neither of which seem to mix. When buying a set of pipes, never assume anything. Make certain that you know exactly what you want, and make certain the maker knows too, and then agree on it… Then ask people on this forum.
If anyone gets upset with this, reread it carefully, several times, before flaming me. I’m not attacking anyone personally, which, if you read it carefully you will see.

Since I have been the subject of much dicussion on the forum lately, I would like to try explain a few things to those who have read some of the comments posted here.
I’m not looking for sympathy here in any way, but I feel that I must let the folks know, that I have had several bouts of illness, not all related and not all at the same time, over the last six months, which has put some of my delivery times in the back seat, and would like to thank on the whole, the very understanding and patient poeple involved.
Like many other maker/s before me, we have all encountered problems with shrinkage, warping etc, but what I will say to you is, that almost another month has passed by since my offer to rectify the problem and still nothing has arrived, I hope the reader concerned here doesn’t take this the wrong way, but how on earth can I repair them, if I don’t have them here to do so.
I would also like to thank all those who have given me their moral support.
