Anyone have experience with M&E Wooden flute?

I’m narrowing down my selection of which flute to buy. I’m leaning towards an M&E polymer, but I noticed he makes a wooden flute for $550. The type of wood isn’t specified, but this struck me as relatively cheap for a wooden flute. Does anyone own an M&E wooden, or know anything about them?

You ought to try our very own Jon C if you want a wooden flute. Although, the M&E is good as well.

I think Henke has a wooden one.

I spoke with Mr. Cronnolly this past winter about his wooden flutes. At the time he didn’t have any blackwood and was just using cocobolo and could get some rosewood if requested.

I believe he is only making his R&R model now which is another thing to consider.

Cheers,
Aaron

Yes he is only making the R & R model now and I believe his Wooden ones are usually Balckwood. Note he does not put keys on Wooden Flutes.

I just have a wooden head for my M&E. It’s cocobolo, lovely wood. You can not go wrong with this flute, unless you’re allergic of course, but there are cures for that, do a search on the board. Also, it would be a great idea to ask Michael to make the head unlined, mine is, the first one he ever made unlined and it’s great!

See PM

hi Fishie, I have a few keyless flutes that are great but I need to sell (too many flutes), there is a very nice Casey Burnes Mopani R&R modal, and a great Jon C large holed R&R Iron wood flute with decorated Silver rings, its a great player.
I’d like $400 for any one of those, I have other keyless flutes but they are not as good as these two.
take care, eilam.
