Anyone familiar with the group Ensemble Galilei?

I heard one of their pieces, “The Winter’s Tale Set”, on NPR
yesterday and it was lovely. They also announced that
Ensemble Galilei is coming to in Northwest Arkansas in March.
So, is this a concert that I shouldn’t miss?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Amy

If the line-up is the same as a few years ago (with Sue Richards on harp, and I think Maggie Sansome on dulcimer) it is a lovely sounding group, especially if you like Medieval/Celtic/Traditional Irish & Scottish.
I for one would definitely go see them.

I’m not really familiar with their music, but some of it sounded pretty good on NPR. Here is their Web site:

Here’s what’s on their schedule for NWA:

Fayetteville, Arkansas
March 1 & 2
Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall
Fine Arts Building, University of Arkansas
Saturday at 7:00 PM, Sunday at 3:00 PM
479-575-6574

I may have to go to one of the shows!

Take care,

Hi Whistlepeg, Hi BB

Thanks so much for the information! The lineup seems to have changed a little
but if the sound clip is any indication, this concert will be a great opportunity
to hear some really wonderful music! Which I’m sure BB you know, doesn’t
come to this part of the world often! By the way, we’re almost
neighbors…I live in Siloam Springs!

Great to hear from both of you! Have a wonderful day!

Amy

They’re sort of a local group for us in the greater Baltimore-DC area and are highly regarded.

Go! Have a good time!
