i will be in the washington DC area for the next week. does anyone know of a music store in the area that might have a few low whistles that i could check out?
The only one I know about is the House of Musical Traditions in Takoma Park (very close to DC, available by public transportation, I think).
A couple of people who work there often post on this forum. Other people who post here have also bought whistles from them–I haven’t been there recently, though.
I enjoy stopping in, and I’ve generally found them friendly. And, in interests of full disclosure, I hosted a whistle workshop in October led by Wendy Morrison, who works there.

thanks i will try to make a trip there this week and check out some low whistles. i’ll look them up and call first, of course.
HMT usually has Susato, Dixon, and (I think) Chieftain low whistles. They occasionally have Water Weasel A and G; They also often have some whistles on consignment.
