Anywhere local in the DC area to score a Generation Bb?

Hey guys-

I was wondering, any of you in the DC area know of a place I could score a Generations Bb? Or would I have better luck just ordering online? Most of the places I have called only have stuff in D.

You could try Appalachian Bluegrass Music Shoppe. They carry a pretty good selection of Generations. They are in Catonsville, MD. I’ve purchased alot of Gens. from the Shoppe.

House of Musical Traditions is very good too. I have bought stuff from them too.

HMT, last I went there, didn’t have a ridiculous policy about trying instruments, so you can pick up a handful of whistles and try them all. In addition to a Gen Bflat, I’d recommend trying the Walton’s C’s, especially the nickel.

Indeed. Not so long ago, the guy behind the counter at HMT, who didn’t know me, presented me with a Copeland in A and said, “Check this out.”

I asked if I could try it.

“I would be disappointed if you didn’t,” he said.

HMT is my choice for local whistle choices as well. Also check what he has in used whistles. A short time back I bought a D water weasel for 65$. He also had a D Busman for 200$. I also played the Copeland. Also there is a good collection of CDs.
