Any Lunasa fans?

Lunasa is the band that really got me into trad music. I have seen them live twice and Kevin Crawford recognized my name from all of my posts on the forums here. Yes he does read them and he is a member here. I have all of their albums and my copy of The Merry Sisters of Fate is signed by the band (post Hennessy). :stuck_out_tongue:

On Donogh leaving, it is a big loss and Se is not as good as their other albums. Of course, I still wish that Michael McGoldrick and John McSherry played with them. Don’t get me wrong I love the current Fluter and Piper I just like all of of the musicians.

My favorite album is Redwood, there is just something about that album that I love. I also really love the last set of tne on Merry Sisters.

I have all their CD’s and love each one! They are an inspiration.

I’d love to see them play live, can’t believe I missed them when they played here… Next time!

Donough Hennessy would be a big loss to any trad band. Just as Paul Meehan would be a big addition to any trad band. It’s a different sound but every bit as good or better than it was previously. Same thing goes for McGoldrick/Crawford and McSherry/Vallely. I have seen Lunasa several times. The first time was June 1998. I saw them again a couple of months back. The performance at the most recent gig was the best I have ever seen them.
