Antique French Whistle

Hey There, Maybe someone can help me. I recently aquired an antique French pennywhistle. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify it’s age, and perhaps value.
It is 11-1/8" long, tapered. appx. 3/4" at the mouth piece and 1/2’’ at the end. It looks and feels by the weight and tarnish to be real silver. The markings are as follows:

CH.MATHIEU
Mod.DEPOSE
a lyre emblem here with an M in the center
MEDAILLES D’OR
BRAVETTE
SGDG

on the back the number 3

If anyone could give me more information about this whistle I would appreciate it!!
Tanks and Heavy Artillery!!

Can you put up a JPEG of it somewhere?

Just a thought,

Tom D.

Thanks Tom D. It’s a good thought. I will try to get the picture posted in the next day or two. If I can figure out how to imbed it in the message board.
Thanks again,

In a pinch, you can open a (free) O-Foto or Snapfish account, upload the image to the account and then post the URL to the account (I think). These (o-Foto, etc.) sites were designed for sharing photos with family and friends. I have a friend who is a professional photographer who uses one of the commercial sites to sell his work from.

Just a thought…

Or email the image to me and I’ll host it for you.
