I recently acquired a new whistle, and I could use some help identifying it. It’s a heavy whistle, appears to be chrome or some other silver colored metal, plays very well with very little breath required, and has an American Lincoln Head penny attached to the front of the barrel. I thought I remembered a thread on Chiff and Fipple discussing a whistle like this one, but I can’t find it. Any help with identifying the maker and some of the history would be greatly appreciated.

To post an image from Facebook, first make sure your facebook privacy settings allow it.
Then, in Mozilla Firefox, right click the picture in your Facebook photo album and select “view image”. On internet explorer there is some similar option. This will take you to a page that only shows the image and nothing else. Go to the URL bar at the top of the screen and copy that URL.
When you go to make a post on here, click the “Img” box above the area where you write text when making a post. The letters “IMG” will show up twice, inside brackets. In between those two pairs of brackets, paste the URL you copied. So, it would be [img image code]htttpsd.sdfoihdsfosdh.com/sodfihdf[/img image code] etc. (It will actually just say "“img” and “/img” inside the brackets, not “img image code” but I couldn’t write it out on here or it wouldn’t show up.)
If you select to preview your post, you should see your image, if done correctly.

It seems you have the images linked to an on-line mail account which, obviously, is only accessible after authentication. You should upload them to a public space, ideally an image hosting site like photobucket or what have you. Link them as you did above and they should be fine.
I posted pictures from my Facebook just fine in the “photos of your stringed instrument” thread, using the method I posted above. If the privacy settings on your facebook photo are not set to “public” it might not work, however.
Thanks everybody for the advice on posting pictures to Chiff & Fipple. Now that that appears to be solved, does anyone know anything about the whistle?

The decorated mouthpiece seems quite nicely made, though. What year is the penny? 
It would appear to be of Elvish make.
It does look like what I would imagine Mithril to be.

Thanks to everyone who offered helpful information. I’ve learned that the whistle is indeed chromed; it was made by a whistle maker who normally makes wooden whistles (who shall remain nameless), and donated to raise money for a charity.
It’s always nice to know a little history behind a whistle.
