I did not want to highjack James’ thread and so I will post this one.

There is another group on this board that needs and deserves a great big thank you. These people are quite annonymous to most of us.

These are the kind souls that respond to new people that are unsure what instrument to get either first or next. They either loan or outright give away an instrument from their own collection so as to assist us.

I have been the recipient of a few of these loans and gifts over the last couple of months. It has assisted Renee and me in our quest for the style and sound that suits us.

Yes, what a group.

“The kindness of strangers.” One of the sweetest things in the whole world. My heartfelt thanks to all of you who sent whistles just because I didn’t have any and then (and still) just because I want to find out as much about them as I can. (And not only whistles. Photos and soundclips, answers to questions …)

And in the same vein, the generosity of whistle and flute makers around the world, who so willingly and openly shed their light on the deepest mysteries of the craft, just for asking and caring about the answers.

I am in your debt.
