I’ve been lurking here for quite a while, so I thought I’d better say hello. I feel guilty collecting all the information and not contributing.
I was given a Clarke Original D at Christmas. I thought it would be fun to use to learn the sea chanties I love so much (works beautifully for this, by the way). However, I’ve started learning some slow airs, as well.
Recently, I purchased a Sweetone in C, and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I switch back and forth between the two when I practice, as my fiancee likes the sound of the Original over the Sweetone. I guess we can’t agree on everything. After I’ve played with these for a while, I’ll try to talk her into letting me get a higher end whistle.
Anyway, thanks for all the advice, so far. And if there’s anybody in the Kennesaw, GA area that would be willing to mentor, I’d appreciate a PM.
