I have one of these…I really like it. I keep it in the kitchen and play it while I cook. Mine has a softer sound than my Mach 3 and the mouthpiece is slightly different than my Mach 2.
Hmmm, perfect condition? It looks a bit grubby in the picture, but that’s neither her nor there.
I believe the Mark Ones were very nice, the Mark 2s had problems (though mine is fine) and the Mark 3 fipple is a smoother sound, with a straighter blow. Didn’t the Mark 1 have a different name too/ Piggott-Smith, or something?
Mine says “Made in Ireland by McCullough Pigott, Mfg. Ltd.” It looks just like this one.
The mouthpiece on my Mach2 has a rounded top where you put your lips…and a hump. The McCullough Pigott has a more angular place where you put your lips…more squared off on the edges, and has the hump too.
I wish I had JessieK’s camera, so I could show you…the difference is very small but there. The top where you put your lips on the Mc-P is flat and my Mach 2 is slightly rounded.
This is the thread for those who like to nitpick a Feadóg to absolute death…
Kim I have never seen another feadog but the one I bought from whistle stop. Are they all made by the same company? Mine is just the brass one with a green top and it stinks..But Tyghress has said she would look at it and see if she could fix it..I even went to the official Feadog site and it basically just has an email address. So is there somewhere that I could find these other Feadogs for sale so I could at least get a look at them?
