Really, though, do they think it will make a difference?
Maybe it will make a difference. Things change for the better. Yesterday, we had a dinner party with some old friends and an 18 year old girl. We started talking about the 60’s and how intellectuals were just so pro-drugs back then. All kinds of drugs, drugs would expand your mind. One of the ladies, a bit older than me, talked about how when she went to college, it was quite fine for a woman (or anyone) to smoke cigarettes in class, just as long as the woman had on a dress. Slacks were not allowed. By the time I went to college, it was the 80’s and smoking was still OK but dress codes had become way more relaxed. At first she thought we were teasing her.
The 18 year old girl plays a couple of instruments but had never mastered the flute. I gave her my home-made pvc flute and she got some sound out of it by the end of the evening.

ah the good ole days… when smoking was allowed from your hospital bed…and kids weren’t veterans of rehab… 
The grandfather of a friend was in the hospital after quadruple bypass surgery, in the early 90’s. He had his wife sneak him in a country ham biscuit. For those of you not familiar with it, country ham is kind of like a bunch of salt held together with some saturated fat. It’s every bit as delicious as it sounds. This was his second bypass; I wonder why.
Wow. The world is a better place for that little revelation.
