Cayden

Cai-Shao-Yang,
Thank you. The clip opened the second time I tried it. Very nice version of Down By The Salley Gardens. Why is it you day playing an Alba is difficult? Relax lad, t’is a fine bit o’ whistle playing ye shared with us!
Keep up the great work.
Regards,
Cayden
Yo Cayden… 'e’s trying to larn the proper English… let’s not send ‘im off for wantin’ with so much false vernacular, eh?
first, thanks MR.dale whisley, the ALBA whistle is a gift from him,ALBA need more breath,so i think it is hard to play。
but it sound so lovely,wonderful!!
AvienMael,
What makes you think that he is not capable of discerning the differences between the written and spoken word and more so, proper English? Sure, he is in the process of learning English and he is doing a fine job in that regard. His exposure to my post will certainly not send him spinning out of linguistic control.
The intent of my post was strictly to compliment him on his interpretation of this standard song, to encourage him to relax while playing, and to somehow recognize his reverence for ITM and Irish culture.
Cai-Shao-Yang, you are doing very well with your English. As well, your whistle playing is most enjoyable.
Having never played an Alba, I was unclear as to why you were stating that it was hard to play. Again, relax and enjoy playing your whistle. I admire your ability to engage across different cultural lines and for your love of whistle and ITM.
Respectfully,
Cayden
Bravo, Bravo! ![]()
thanks all,i will practice more!!!!now,i use 5 hours perday to practice whistle, and i also do my job 8 hours perday!
i really love irish traditional culture, tunes! they full of my life!!
PS:
you often talk about “ITM”,what is ITM?
Cai Shao Yang,
ITM is an abreviation for Irish Traditional Music = ITM. It is great that you are so devoted and dedicated to your practice of whistle, I am sure you will improve quickly and become an even better player with time. Keep up the good work my friend. ![]()

Cayden
Great playing!
Thank you for sharing, and thank you for being part of our community.
Goodness Cai-Shao-Yang, that sounded beautiful!
Ernest
Yes, I’m sure that would sound beautiful - exactly like Joanie Madden playing Down By the Sally Gardens on her Song of the Irish Whistle cd. I’m confused - are you saying that’s you actually playing and not Joanie?
Philo
Lovely playing ![]()
sure.i use ALBA whistle,and joanie use pat,am i right?
why i paly so like joanie, haha,in china, most whistler Worship two whistler ,one is MRS.madden ,another is brain Finnegan! so,we also Imitate their playing techniques, that is our compulsory course。haha!
We are to imitate her proud,we call she “big whistle MAMA”。The accompaniment did come from the album, I do the processing!
ALBA sound like Pat,i think ,so this is why i paly this tune in alba。
You can compare my play with joanie‘s album,You’ll find out subtle differences。
this is my another performance’s link, you can listen in here:http://www.tudou.com/v/YWZmjXjKYQI/&resourceId=0_04_02_99/v.swf
this is also ALBA whistle,Without accompaniment!
PS:joanie madden & finnegan ,are most famous whistlers in china。 China can be found in many of their album, a lot of people know them, but on the other hand, know little about other whistler。
your dear CAI
